    Responsibilities

    FILA North America is seeking a Sr. Manager, PR & Corporate Communications for our corporate office in New York City. This position will support the PR & Corporate Communications department in effectively communicating FILA North America brand news both internally and externally. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Public Relations & Corporate Communications.

     

    The Sr. Manager, PR & Corporate Communications will lead certain external and internal communications initiatives. The position will work with all divisions of the marketing team – creative, digital, production, ecommerce, as well as the footwear and apparel design teams – to ensure brand messaging is consistent with new products and as it relates to larger marketing initiatives.

    Candidate will also assist the Sr. Director by developing, implementing and maintaining processes and policies in the Corporate Communications function.

    • Develop and execute dynamic press and earned media strategies to support key product launches, special events and marketing campaigns.
      • Manage PR calendar to ensure a clear communications plan and cadence.
      • Develop innovative ideas and strategies to promote FILA via feature stories, event coverage, broadcast segments, and product placement, through print, digital and broadcast media.
    • Liaise with media contacts to secure media placements for FILA inline products, collaborations, corporate news, events.
      • Pursue proactive press opportunities and manage reactive press requests.
    • Develop written press materials – releases, talking points, story pitches – and manage approval process with internal stakeholders, retailers, collaboration partners, etc. as needed.
    • Create and manage distribution of media coverage reports, as well as event recaps, to executive leadership team.
    • Create and manage calendar of Corporate Communications materials.
    • Create posts and manage FILA’s Newsmarket platform with relevant FILA USA and global news.
    • Strategize and execute media and influencer events; lead event planning, including seasonal market appointments and special events tied to key campaigns/initiatives.
    • Identify and help manage outside agency partners and other resources.
    • Identify potential marketing opportunities from media outlets, influencers and other complimentary brand partners.
    • Work with FILA production team for asset creation needs, including brief writing, shot lists and deadline dates.
    • Assist in facilitating media interviews for executives and work with Sr. Director to brief and staff media interviews with executive leadership as needed.
    • Assist Sr. Director in development of PR strategy as it relates to retail partnerships and collaboration partners.
    • Work with digital team on influencer identification for inline product, collaborative launches, events, brand partnerships.
    • Work with Sr. Director to assist global team as necessary in reviewing press materials and key messages, and to develop press materials for global initiatives.

     

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

    • 6-7 years of experience in the Public Relations or Communications space, working at an agency or in-house, with a demonstrated ability to lead strategic earned media initiatives. Prior experience is industry agnostic.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field.
    • Existing relationships with media contacts across verticals.
    • Solid knowledge base of all media types.
    • Proven business communication and writing skills.
    • Previous experience with Cision, Launchmetrics is a plus.
    • Excels in rapidly evolving environments, brainstorming new concepts, connecting with key stakeholders.
    • Self-motivating, willing to roll your sleeves up to work collaboratively and effectively in a diverse team environment.
    • Ability to proactively prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects within time constraints and with strong attention to detail.
